Great passion and cause, starts off an an idea

Sleipnir Creations CIC was founded by Adrian Brown, Tina Wyllie, and Luke Wardle in the latter end of 2023. They have a passion for helping their communities, and through conversation with local leaders, areas were identified where time and resources could be more efficiently used within the community to enrich these under-supported services. Since conception, Sleipnir Creations CIC have expanded their team to include people from a wide variety of social economic backgrounds and have been chosen for their enthusiasm and life experience.

The name Sleipnir Creations was adopted due to the founding members’ Viking re-enactment background which reflected the historical educational element of the CIC. Odin’s horse from Norse mythology was deemed appropriate for the brand as it demonstrates the multi-faceted organisation which is represented by the horses eight legs. The ‘Creations’ element in the name was developed to highlight the creative nature and imagination of the organisation.

The first phase of Sleipnir’s activities have been deliberately aimed at areas where members either have direct personal, family, or professional experience. Sleipnir Creations CIC envisions the creation of a local archaeologically sympathetic education resource events centre. This will serve as a base of operations to further educate and enrich the lives of the community and surrounding areas for many years to come. This centre will become a centre of excellence for historical education with a hands-on, lifelike, and unique approach to education. The centre will also encompass our core values for education, mental health, wellbeing, arts, and culture. This is only achievable with dedication and determination. These are valuable qualities that all members of Sleipnir Creations CIC possess and in conjunction with their drive for personal growth will make the long-term goal a reality.

Our Story

The activities are as follows:

  • Providing educational, early medieval talks to schools, providing a creative approach to education

  • Support local community wellbeing/mental health groups – support, grow and ensure the group thrives.

  • Work with young professionals to produce a series of short stories aimed at young school age children, aimed to educate children on various SEND needs.

  • Organising fund raising events in line with our company values to further our mission.

  • Support other like-minded non-for-profit/charitable organisations.

  • Working to improve the general mindset and mental health of the local community regardless of person or background as negative mental health affects us all.

  • Encourage the development of arts, crafts, culture, music, and performance, in a historical and modern-day context to impact people’s mental health positively in the community.

The Future

Sleipnir’s long-term aim is to create a local archaeological education resource centre. This will become the base for educational talks which will supplement KS1 & 2 of the National Curriculum for History. Sleipnir will offer bespoke hands-on historical activities and skills suitable for KS3,4 & 5 students. These activities and experience days will help supplement school-based education and home school education. Sleipnir will use this centre to provide resources and experience days to supplement individuals working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Awards. This centre will serve as the location for all activities in historical education, wellbeing, mental health, arts, and crafts.
